📊 Par Levels: Getting It Just Right

Your par level is the amount of linen needed to support your patients and staff between deliveries, with a small reserve for the unexpected. Set too high, and you’ll run into overcrowded closets, higher replacement costs, and unnecessary usage. Set too low, and you risk running out when you need it most.  We recommend reviewing your par levels quarterly. A helpful benchmark? Clean linen on hand should not exceed 50% of your total inventory for any given item. Your Crown rep is always available to help fine-tune your levels.

🧺 Understanding Your True Inventory
Your total linen inventory isn’t just what’s on the shelf. It includes:

  • Items currently in use in your clinic
  • Soiled linen waiting for pickup
  • Linen in transit for delivery
  • Pieces already at Crown being processed

 This big-picture view ensures accurate ordering and efficient linen flow.

📦 Avoid Overstocking
If you consistently find clean linen going unused between deliveries, it's time to reassess. Too much on hand can mean higher costs, cluttered storage, and inflated linen usage. Adjusting your par levels can lead to immediate improvements.

♻️ Credit Reject Linen Promptly
Have green bag rejects? Be sure to turn them in at least once a quarter through your Crown driver. It’s an easy way to ensure you 100% receive credit for any linen that does meet your standards and helps us remove unusable items from the system. This saves you space and supports better inventory accuracy.
